Transmission Service and what to look out for
A car’s transmission is designed to transmit power from your engine to the drive axle. As an integral part of your vehicle, the transmission will inevitably need to be repaired at some point.
Luckily, transmissions usually don’t fail without warning, and your vehicle will often produce a few signs before you’ll need a transmission repair. If you see or hear any of the following, get in touch as soon as possible:
PROBLEMS WHEN SHIFTING
Keep an eye out for jerking when shifting, a grinding sound when shifting in manual cars, or a shaking sensation when shifting in automatic cars.
STRANGE SOUNDS
Transmission issues are sometimes accompanied by unusual sounds coming from the vehicle. If your car produces whining or buzzing noises, especially when in neutral, contact us as soon as possible.
LEAKING FLUID
Have you checked under your car and seen leaking fluid? If so, take a closer look — unlike oil, transmission fluid typically has a reddish hue to it, and may be accompanied by a burning smell.
